Rebecca1RebRebecca Bustamante, MFA, PMP, earned her MFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  Currently, she is represented by Taylor Royall in Baltimore and is employed as a Project Manager for Verisign Inc.  Rebecca is honored to be President of Women in Film and Video, DC, and was thrilled to accept the 2015 DC Mayor’s Arts Award for Excellence in Service to the Arts on behalf of this non-profit organization.  Previously, she was Executive Producer for “Mastering Business Communications”, a Comcast television show in the DC metro area.

Rebecca was invited to be a Charter Member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and also co-founded Jumpstart  Performance Co., a theatre company dedicated to original works, while in undergraduate school.  Later she also founded the Cross-Cultural Artists Forum in Dallas, Texas, with support from the Non-Traditional Casting Project (NTCP) in New York City.  Her most recent film was ‘Toobie’, an anti-bullying film for NorthBay media.  Favorite acting roles include the mother in the Gilda’s Club PSA (Women in Film -Dallas) which featured voiceover by Meryl Streep, the mother in Maryland Vehicle Association’s PSA against teen drunk driving (clip above), and “Sandi the Waitress” in the short film Breaking In, recipient of various awards for cinematography and semi-finalist in the Tokyo International Film Festival.  Acting highlights also include broadcast work for Interface Media, UMUC, the National Guard, the DEA, JC Penney, RadioShack (Circle R), Blockbusters, Sally Beauty Supply, Frito-Lay, HomeVestors, Dell, Halliburton Oil, American Heart Association, Hidden Valley Ranch, Wet-n-Wild, and Walker, Texas Ranger.

In 2010, she was a core team member of Verisign’s “Spend Smart”, a corporate fiscal responsibility program resulting in $15MM savings annually; currently, she is a core team member of “Verisign Cares”, the corporate social responsibility program.  She is certified by Toastmaster International’s communication and leadership programs, and has both her PMP and CSM certifications in project management.
